HOCHTIEF in Poland
Poland is one of numerous markets where HOCHTIEF has been operating very successfully for several years. The presence of HOCHTIEF in this market started in 1996 when HOCHTIEF Polska was established.
HOCHTIEF took the first step into the Polish market in 1990 when it entered into cooperation with Warsaw-based Budokor to construct Okęcie Airport. HOCHTIEF was not only the general contractor of the new passenger terminal, catering facilities and cargo terminal, but also arranged the financing for the entire investment project. We considered the first activity a successful operation and, three years later acquired a shareholding in Budokor. The next move was the acquisition of shares in Poznań-based Poz-Building in 1995. In 1996 Cracow-based Kpis-Cracovia joined our group.
HOCHTIEF gradually acquired all the shares in these companies, and in 2000 merged them into one business – HOCHTIEF Polska.
On December 31, 2009 HOCHTIEF Polska Sp. z o.o. has been transformated into HOCHTIEF Polska SA.
